Ceramics

Technical ceramics or advanced ceramics are recent terms applied to an assorted range of materials, generally obtained from specially selected inorganic raw materials – metallic oxides – with a high degree of purity. The raw materials are subjected to moulding techniques used in powder-pressing technology, with a subsequent sintering process at a very high temperature, resulting in dense materials which, because of their advanced technical characteristics, have a wide range of uses.

Due to their excellent properties, technical ceramics are essential in uses and processes which require:

  • Extreme toughness
  • High temperature stability
  • High corrosion resistance
  • High vacuum resistance
  • Great stability in oxidizing or reducing atmospheres
  • Long productive lifetime
