Inert Balls

About this product

Ceramic Balls have an enormous area of applications. We are particularly focussed on grinding, but there are a lot of other areas of applications for which we have the right balls. These processes encompass the whole spectrum of catalytic or thermal mass conversion such as:

  • Alkylation
  • Catalytic Reforming
  • Dehydrogeneration
  • Desulfurisation
  • Catalytic Cracking
  • Catalytic Conversion
  • Catalytic Oxidation
  • Catalytic Reforming
  • Hydrofining
  • Isomerisation
  • Powerforming
  • Thermal Cracking

The balls used for those kinds of applications are often called  Inert Balls. Inert Alumina Balls have the highest quality. They are widely used in petrochemical, chemical, metallurgical, gas and environmental protection industry.
In a lot of processes the alumina balls are used as covering and supporting materials of catalysts in reaction vessels and as packing in towers. They have the feature of high temperature and pressure resistance, low water absorbtion, and stable chemical performance. The Al2O3 balls can not only resist the corrosion of acid, alkali and other organic solvents, but also the temperature change in production processes. The main role of inert ceramic balls is to increase the distribution spot of gas or liquid, and also to support and protect the activated catalyst with low strength.

Bed Support Media

From our Chinese partner we offer e.g. the following range of bed support media:
Inert ceramic ball (BSM-100), Ceramic ball shaped pineapple (BSM-200), Ceramic ball with holes (BSM-300), Steatite ball (BSM-700), Pure Alumina ball (BSM-900), Al2O3 35% Bed Support Media Ball (BSM-35)

General specification for BSM-100, BSM-200, BSM-300, BSM-700, BSM-35:

Bed support Media are manufactured from very high quality chemical-porcelain clay materials, with quite excellent stability, high mechanical strength and resistance to thermal shock. This makes them an ideal choice for support of all types of catalysts.

General specification for BSM-900:

BSM-900 is made from pure Alpha Alumina which has very low silica content. This is very important, because leached silica can cause problems by coating downstream equipment and this BSM-900 reduces this risk.
